On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded as 40.8 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.

“The temperature before the winds and the rain was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius. Within 15 minutes, the temperature dropped to 31.4 degrees Celsius. We are expecting some rainfall on Wednesday as well,” said the MeT department.

“Rain seems like a blessing. I took my whole family for a drive in the evening,” said Rasman Kaur, a resident of Rohini.

The minimum temperature was recorded two notches above the average at 29.5 degrees Celsius, while the humidity was between 56 and 36 per cent. However, due to the strong wind, the wall of a mosque collapsed in Rohini in north Delhi, injuring a woman.

The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday are likely to hover between 40 and 27 degrees Celsius and will be accompanied by rain.
