There are more than 11 assembly seats, around 50 wards, where Muslim votes play a significant role in deciding the fate of candidates.

“There was an urgent need to focus on the poor literacy rate among Muslims. For students with an Urdu background, there has always been a demand to provide them education in the language they are comfortable with. If we are voted back to power, we’ll open more Urdu medium schools in wards where Muslims have significant presence,” said BJP leader Vani Tripathi.

The party’s campaign material is also being published in Urdu to reach out to voters in Muslim populated areas. “We are promising Muslims better education and healthcare so they can be a part of progressive society,” Tripathi added.
