The accident occurred when one of the vehicles in Dikshit's convoy tried to avoid hitting a cyclist who suddenly found himself between two cars of the entourage.
The car carrying Dikshit had moved well ahead when the incident, involving the remaining vehicles of her convoy, took place.
Dikshit was going to the Secretariat from Raj Bhavan after attending the swearing-in ceremony of justice Darmar Murugesan as chief justice of the Delhi high court.
Four Delhi Police constables and a senior official in the chief minister's office received minor injuries in the accident around noon. All the injured were discharged from the hospital later.
"A cyclist accidently entered the Chief Minister's entourage from the wrong side. The driver immediately applied brakes to save the cyclist but the car behind it rammed it," said an official.
Five vehicles in the convoy were partially damaged in the accident.
The chief minister wished early recovery for the injured. She has instructed the health department to provide suitable treatment to all the injured.
