Fog once again shrouded the Indira Gandhi International airport (IGIA) on Tuesday but there were no significant delays. The Met department does not expect any fog related disruptions in the next couple of days.

“Dense fog was witnessed only at the new runway 29 from 5.30-8.30 am. There is hardly any chance of dense fog at the airport on Wednesday morning thanks to high wind speed,” said R.K. Jenamani, Director-in-charge, IGIA Met unit. But dense fog is expected between January 23-26 due approaching western disturbances, he added.
Taxiway trouble
Some international departures were disrupted late on Monday after the centreline lights on a portion of Taxiway P at IGIA developed a fault. The taxiway is connected to the main runway and due to fog planes couldn’t reach the runway without the lights.
