The CPM has urged the government to facilitate the release and rehabilitation of Muslim youths, languishing in jails in connection with the Malegaon, Mecca Masjid, Samjhauta and Ajmer Shareif bomb blasts cases.

The demand comes in the wake of a confessional statement by Swami Aseemananda which has “further exposed the diabolical role of the Hindutva groups in planning and executing the bomb blasts”.
In a letter addressed to home minister, P Chidambaram, party politburo member, Brinda Karat wrote: “At least now justice must be done to those falsely accused. Those still in jail should be released without any delay in these specific cases. The Central Government must also give them compensation and ensure their rehabilitation,” she wrote.
Recalling that she had earlier demanded the same in Rajya Sabha, Karat said, “I deeply regret that the Government paid no heed to this demand in spite of the support it received from different quarters of the House.”
“On the contrary, the CBI which is dealing with some of these cases continued to ensure that innocent people remained in jail by opposing their bail pleas.”
