"Around 689,420 cusecs of water was discharged in River Yamuna and the water level is increasing. The Yamuna is flowing at 205.14 cm whereas the danger mark is 204.83 cm," said V.P.S. Tomar, chief engineer of the Delhi Flood Control and Irrigation Department.

He said the water level could further rise to 205.65 by 5 p.m. on Monday. However, this time round, rescue boats and booster pumps are not required, as people have already been evacuated from low-lying areas.

"People have still not moved back to the low-lying areas from where they were earlier evacuated. They are still living in makeshift camps," added Tomar.
