The entrance tests held by Lady Shri Ram College and Gargi College on Monday for admission to the B.A. English (Hons.) course drew a huge response from students. Though the tests were held at separate time, the downpour in the morning and registration for Journalism (Hons.) by LSR meant students were a little hassled.

Though LSR offers only 60 seats, including reserved seats, for English (Hons.), 586 students turned up for the test. The heavy rain in the morning, however, meant that many of them turned up late. “We allowed extra time to such students who got late because of waterlogging,” said LSR's media coordinator Kanika Khandelwal. “Most students found the test, which required them to interpret a passage of prose or poetry, interesting,” she said. Gargi College held the test for more than 900 students, principal Meera Ramchandran said. The college offers just 30 seats, including reserved seats.
