Gadkari douses NDA fire, says will talk to all

The BJP will consult all NDA allies before finalising the candidate for the presidential elections, party chief Nitin Gadkari has said.

The BJP will consult all NDA allies before finalising the candidate for the presidential elections, party chief Nitin Gadkari has said.

Amid reports of disagreement in the NDA over Sushma Swaraj’s call for a non-Congress consensus candidate, Gadkari told Hindustan Times the BJP would be holding talks with smaller as well as regional parties.

"They have a lot of importance now,” he said. “We have no reservations about anybody nor are we opposed to anyone. I will talk to Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav to find out a unanimous choice. But I feel the ruling party should consult the principle opposition party. The Congress has taken a unilateral decision,” Gadkari said.
