Police sources say the alleged killers of Hewitt Associates employee Jigeesha Ghosh and television journalist Soumya Vishwanathan killed one more person in the Vasant Kunj area in January. Police believe they could be involved in other cases as well, as a ‘blood stained dagger’ was recovered from them.

Police investigations revealed the gang led by car thief Ravi Kapoor robbed a Qualis vehicle from a 25-year-old man in the early hours of January 8. When the person identified as Nadeem resisted, they shot him in the chest and dumped his body in Nangal Devat area.
“We are investigating their role in the murder case of Nadeem. It was also committed in the early hours on the same stretch, with the same modus operandi as in the Vishwanathan case,” said a senior police officer.
‘Kapoor duped club’
Kapoor impersonating as a policeman had gone to a discotheque in Defence Colony. A case of impersonation was registered but he could not be arrested then.
Malik’s arrest
The police posed as officials of a health club to nab Baljeet Malik, whose arrest led to the other accused. The police had visited the Masoodpur house of Malik, a body builder, with an appointment letter for a job at a gymnasium.
Victim’s mobile
When she was abducted, Ghosh was carrying two phones. “After killing her, they threw one mobile on a moving truck and another on the road, to crush it under the wheels of a vehicle,” said HGS Dhaliwal, DCP (south).
