“Water does not reach the rooftop tanks, so residents living on top floors have converted their garages to store water tanks. Booster motors are used to lift the water to individual houses from these tanks. DDA is encouraging illegal activities in the area rather than providing a solution to water woes,” said Nawal Singh, a resident.
The direct supply of water provided by DDA is collected in a huge underground tank that has a capacity of 1,25,000 litres. This water from the underground tank is then collected in individual tanks located in garages.
According to residents, DDA is suppose to supply 1,80,000 litres of water for the entire society but gets only one lakh litres. “While the average demand is for 15 tankers per day, the society receives water from 5 tankers only.”
