Girl raped by both accused, court told

The five-year-old girl, who was abducted, raped and brutalised in east Delhi, was sexually assaulted by both Manoj Kumar Sah and his friend Pradeep Kumar, a Delhi court was told on Tuesday.

“Yes, both had raped the girl,” a public prosecutor told additional sessions judge Sanjay Garg who asked if Manoj Kumar Sah and his friend, Pradeep Kumar, were involved in the crime.

Now the case will be treated as gang rape and attract a minimum sentence of 10 years against seven years for rape.

The court remanded Pradeep Kumar in four days in the custody of the Delhi Police who said they needed to interrogate him to unearth the sequence of events.

Sah, who was arrested on April 20 from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, had told police that Kumar was the one who had pushed him to rape the child.
