Goon steals bike from police station, burns it
A criminal took revenge on the police for arresting him in a rather peculiar way: he stole a motorcycle from a police station, took it to an isolated place and set it on fire.
The police have initiated departmental action against the cop to whom the bike was assigned and launched a hunt for the accused.
The incident happened at the Lajpat Nagar police station two days ago. A constable who parked his motorcycle inside the police station was taken aback when he found it missing. A case of theft was subsequently lodged.
The motorcycle, a brand new Pulsar given to him for patrolling purposes, was found charred near the Chirag Dilli flyover.
"During investigations, it was found that the burnt motorcycle was indeed the one stolen from the police station," said a senior police officer.
"We found that a notorious criminal of Lajpat Nagar who had recently gone out on bail was involved in the case. We will arrest him soon," said the officer.
The police said that they had suspended the policeman for negligence. "We have initiated departmental enquiries against him and asked him to explain the mishandling of public property," said the officer.
