Opposition NDA on Wednesday charged the Centre with not giving enough funds for rehabilitation of victims and reconstruction of areas devastated by last year's massive floods in Kosi river in Bihar.

Soon after Rajya Sabha met for the day, NDA members were up on their feet decrying the alleged apathy in extending help to the cash strapped state government.
Sharad Yadav (JD-U) said even though Kosi floods had been declared a national calamity, not enough help is coming from the Centre. The Bihar government, he said, had sought additional foodgrain but they were not allocated to the state.
BJP members wanted either the Prime Minister or Home Minister P Chidambaram, who was present in the House, to respond.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy said the Government will respond on the issue after due consultations with the concerned ministers.
