The masterplan has categorised nearly 100 industries in its negative/prohibitive list as they are seen as a potential threat to the environment.

In its recent order, the government has asked them to stop their activities or relocate outside the national capital by February 6, 2010 and submit a detailed action plan in this regard by June 22 to Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).

"All such units engaged in the activities falling under prohibited or negative list should stop their activities and relocate outside the city on or before February 6, 2010 without fail," a senior Environment Department official told PTI.

He said a decision in this regard was taken at a meeting which was attended by DPCC chairperson J K Dadoo besides senior officials from the environment department.

Factories engaged in activities such as acids, acid slurry, aircraft building, manufacturing of pulp and paper, methanol, locomotives and wagons, lime kiln, industrial trucks, gelatin, iron/steel metal forging, abattoirs and animal blood processing have been identified as prohibited industries as per the provision of MPD 2021.
