Reports of a van driver and security gunman fleeing with Rs 68.5 lakh, meant for various ATM booths, in Delhi on Friday has got the Gurgaon police hoping to crack a similar case lodged in the city last December.
The city police are now in touch with their Delhi counterparts to trace the accused who fled with the cash van.
"There are striking similarities in both cases. We have not been able to trace the accused in the Gurgaon case in which Rs 35 lakh was stolen and will see how the Delhi Police investigate the matter. Also, the police was informed almost two hours after the incident both times," said a senior police officer who does not wish to be named. "In the Gurgaon case, we found that driver Yogesh was a noted criminal from Uttar Pradesh," the officer added.
