Profession: Yusuf is full-time into politics.

Education: B.Com (Hons.) from Dr. Zakir Husain College, DU.

Political career: Yusuf fought his first assembly election in 1993 and continued his winning streak in 1998 and 2003 assembly elections. He has been minister of development, revenue and food and civil supplies. In third assembly, he got the portfolio of transport ministry and food and civil supplies.

Family: He is married to Bushra. They have three sons — Umar, Areeb and Fazal. “Unless there is some important engagement I try and come home in time. My Sundays are for my family. I take them out to watch films,” said Yusuf. He loves travelling and takes at least a week off every six months to go on vacation. “The idea is to spend some good time with my family,” he said. He has keen interest in music and loves ghazals.

Cars: Yusuf does not own a car. He commutes in his official Maruti Esteem. “I don’t need a car right now,” he said.
