The Delhi High Court on Friday sought from two schools run by the Indian Air Force Benevolent Cultural and Educational Society a response to a contention that the institutions had not complied with the procedure for hiking their fees.

A division bench of Justice AK Sikri and Justice Valmiki J Mehta issued notices to the schools and slated the next hearing on August 18.

In its petition through counsel Ashok Aggarwal, the Delhi Abhibhavak Mahasangh (parents' organisation) contended that the two schools - Air Force Nursery School and Air Force Junior School - run by the society had failed to comply with the court's May 28 directions to schools on the procedure to be followed for hiking the fees.

The Air Force Nursery School increased the tuition fee from Rs 475 per month to Rs 1,000 in the first week of July, while the Air Force Junior School raised the fee from Rs 435 to Rs 1,100 per month, the petitioner said.
