‘He was close to Sandeep, couldn’t get over his death’

The victim’s suicide note in Malayalam revealed his frustration. The father of two wrote, “The administrators and representatives of the political parties could not do anything for the victims of 26/11 attack... Was it actually a war against two nations? Was the decision taken by the government after the Kandhahar incident a cause for Mumbai attack? Sandu mon, (Sandeep Unnikrishnan) you are forgotten with every passing day, but I can’t.”

K Unnikrishnan, Major Sandeep’s father said, “We were family. He had brought up Sandeep like his own child. After his death he used to sit outside my house and weep all day long. I forgot to console him then. He was desperate.”

Mohanan used to work for a private firm, but had started running a provision store a few years ago.

“He was close to Sandeep and could not get over his death,” Unnikrishnan said.

“Anyone can come and do anything in India. Indian democracy is a curse for India itself. The enemies are utilising this. Why government is late for introducing a bill in Parliament against terrorism? Democracy should be for the well being of the nation, and it should not make way for terrorism,” the suicide note read.

Mohanan reportedly told a TV channel that he was frustrated with the administration and wanted to feel the pain his nephew would have felt when he was gunned down by the terrorists.
