Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and opposition leader LK Advani Saturday paid floral tributes to those who died when terrorists stormed the Indian parliament on this day seven years ago.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi joined them at the sombre event in the Parliament premises.
The prime minister and others placed flowers near a plaque erected in memory of those killed in the attack that almost sparked an India-Pakistan war.
Also present were the widow and son of Ghanshyam Singh of Delhi Police, one of the security personnel killed that day.
On Dec 13, 2001, five gunmen stormed the parliament house in a car with home ministry and parliament labels. They got out of their car in a flash and began firing indiscriminately.
A total of nine people were killed in the attack. All five terrorists were also killed.
