"It has been an uphill battle with the pressure of paying rent, EMIs and interests on the home loan. Now, after 10 months of uncertainty, I hope to get my dream home soon," Bharti added with tears of joys.

Greater Noida farmers had moved court against acquisition of about 80 lakh square meters of land, on which about 2.5 lakh housing units had been planned.

About 1 lakh investors had formed the Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association (NEFOWA) to fight for their rights.

The association had staged dozens of protests in Noida, Delhi's Jantar Mantar, Lucknow and also formed a large human chain to shake up the authorities.

"I had invested all my savings to buy a house. Therefore, we had no option but to fight with all the energy," said Indrish Gupta, another homebuyer.

"If the master plan approval would have been delayed further, I would have been fired from my job since I was focusing on the agitation. The NCRPB approval means that I can lead a normal life now," said Mohan Kumar a buyer.
