I-Day: PM to address nation for 5th time

Riding high on the victory in the trust vote, which will enable his Govt to bring home the N-Deal, PM Manmohan Singh will be addressing the nation, on Independence Day, reports Prasad Nichenametla.

Riding high on the victory in the trust vote, which would enable his government to bring home the Indo-US Civilian Nuclear Deal, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be addressing the nation, on Independence Day, on Friday. In the era of coalition politics, Singh would actually be achieving a rare distinction of making that speech from the ramparts of the red fort for the fifth consecutive time.

Friday’s speech is also expected to show a new Manmohan Singh who with his strategic moves has come out of his (perceived) weak image to the one who leads the nation and government from all fronts.
