The Income Tax department has sent notices for scrutiny to two NGOs associated with former IPS officer and Team Anna member Kiran Bedi.

The Income Tax department has sent notices for scrutiny to two NGOs associated with former IPS officer and Team Anna member Kiran Bedi.

The I-T notices, according to sources, pertain to certain exemptions enjoyed by the NGOs under various provisions of the Income Tax Act.

Bedi did not respond to calls and SMSes made to her.

According to sources, the notices have been sent by the Exemptions unit of the I-T department located in the national capital.

Sometime back, another member of Team Anna, Arvind Kejriwal, had received an I-T notice for alleged violation of service rules and subsequent recovery of dues.
