New Delhi has reacted strongly to the latest attack on Indian students in Australia and has rushed its High Commissioner to Melbourne to help with the treatment of one of the students who is said to be critical.

Four students from Andhra pradesh were assaulted by a group of teenagers earlier this week.
One of them, Sravan Kumar Theerthala, was seriously injured in the attack, said to be racially motivated.
External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said he was appalled by the attack and it was the responsibility of Australian authorities to ensure “well-being” and “security” of Indian students.
“I have been appalled by the attack on our students in Melbourne. Our Consulate General in Melbourne has been in touch with the students affected and with the state police,” Krishna said in a statement.
