“The investigation is on. Until we get an assessment (report) from the investigating agency, it will be extremely difficult for us to pinpoint who is responsible for this attack, so we will hold our judgment till we get a report,” external affairs minister S M Krishna said on Tuesday.

“If Israel has some information, it will be shared with India,” the minister added.

“We have no evidence to name any country. It is premature to take any country’s name,” Union home secretary R K Singh said.

He also said the investigators were yet to zero in on the people behind the crime and no material had suggested involvement of any particular country. Iran has kept on blaming Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah for the twin bomb attacks that targeted Israeli embassy staff in new Delhi as well as in India and Georgia on Monday. Iran refuted the charges promptly.

Israel ambassador to India Alon Ushpiz said, “We fully trust them, they are good partner.”

“We are watching official statements coming out of Delhi, we expect justice should be done. I don't see any Indian tolerating an attack of this kind on a woman, in the heart of your capital, I see only a determination and obligation to do justice,” the envoy said.

National security advisor Shivshankar Menon and foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai met Ushpiz on Tuesday. It’s learnt that a five-member Israel team has arrived in India.
