In yet another attempt to reach out to hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the interlocutors for J&K have renewed their invitation to him to come to the negotiating table for a political settlement.

Sources said the invitation has been sent to Geelani at his Delhi residence. The interlocutors had earlier formally invited Geelani along with other separatist leaders for an interaction.
Besides Geelani, those invited for talks included Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik, moderate Hurriyat conference chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, his other colleagues in the faction and Democratic Freedom Party head Shabir Ahmed Shah.
Though the interlocutors — Dileep Padgaonkar, Radha Kumar and MM Ansari — had not set any time-frame for the separatist leaders to respond to their invitation, nobody has responded yet. The interlocutors have also asked the leaders to share with them documents on the resolution of the issue.
