Putting an end to a long-drawn battle between the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC), the Ministry of Urban Development (MoD) has asked the civic body to go ahead with using sand stone for corridors during the CP restoration.

"We have got a communication from the MoD wherein it has not heeded to our appeal for reconsideration," Anand Tiwari, NDMC spokesperson said on Saturday.
He did not specify the reasons why the Ministry rejected the civic body's proposal.
The CP restoration project has been hanging fire for last few months over the issue of use of sandstone or granite.
The DUAC had earlier allowed the NDMC to use granite for the pilot project in C block. But later on, the Commission insisted on sandstone and rejected the use of granite.
