As many as 65 trains were cancelled on Thursday and 31 short terminated due to the ongoing Jat agitation with Railways pegging the loss due to continuing disruption of rail movement at over Rs 100 crore.

Five pairs of trains, which were cancelled since March 22, to facilitate additional coal rake movement to power plants in Haryana facing depleting coal stock, was on Thursday extended by another two days.
"Since still there are large number of pending indents of food grains and quantity of coal available with power house is precarious, further extension of cancellation of trains was required," said a Railway official.
The Jat agitation which has blocked Shakurbasti-Bathinda line of Northern Railway has led to diversion of traffic to Delhi-Ambala section, choaking the line and causing decreased supply of power house rakes and has hampered foodgrain movement.
