As the BJP leadership grapples with the crisis in Karnataka, JD(S) -- a lead player in the state politics -- is keeping a close watch on the development though its leaders are refusing to openly comment on the issue.

"The drama is going on between two factions (of BJP) and it is not necessary for me to answer for their action. Nobody from BJP till now has had discussions with me. I think they will sort out their problems among themselves. It is not for our party to align with any of them," JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy told reporters in New Delhi, soon after his arrival.
JD(S) Chief and Kumaraswamy's father H D Deve Gowda is also camping in Delhi and sources said the father-son duo is keeping a close watch on the situation in the state.
Meanwhile, dissident BJP leader Janardhan Reddy stuck to his demand for a "better leadership" in the state even as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa transferred his Principal Secretary V P Baligar, whose removal was one of the prime demands of the dissident camp.
