Joe Biden to visit India next week

As a precursor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to the US in September, US vice-president Joe Biden will visit India next week. He would also seek Indian support for the American exit plans in Afghanistan during his visit. HT reports.

A team of US officials is currently in New Delhi to firm up plans for Biden's visit.

External affairs ministry spokesperson said the exact dates of the visit will be announced after consultations between the visiting US officials and their Indian interlocutors.

The PM, during his visit in September, is set to have a bilateral meeting with US President Barack Obama besides attending the United Nations general assembly.
