Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC)’s former chairman Suresh Kalmadi, who was arrested by the CBI on Monday for his alleged involvement in the award of the Timing, Scoring& Results (TSR) deal to a Swiss firm, spent a restless night during his stay in an agency lock-up.

“Kalmadi was awake till late into the night and was seen chatting with a guard kept to watch him,” said an agency source.
Kalmadi has been kept in a one-room lock-up on the first floor of the agency’s newly built air-conditioned headquarters.
His room comprises a “simple” bed but no television set, while armed guards watch his every activity.
“He had asked for the permission to use his personal physician but it was denied due to security reasons. What if such a person causes any harm to him?” said the source.
“We allow his relatives to meet him and for home food as per rules of custodial detention,” said the source.
