The Delhi high court today sought the CBI's response on the bail pleas of DMK MP Kanimozhi and four others arrested for their alleged roles in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
DMK MP Kanimozhi, accused in the 2G scam, will have to remain in Tihar jail for at least three more weeks as the Delhi High Court on Wednesday deferred her bail plea hearing to December 1 after seeking CBI’s response.

Besides Kanimozhi, DMK-run Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar, Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd directors Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal, and Bollywood producer Karim Morani moved the HC against a special court order dismissing their bail application on November 3.
The CBI told the court that it will not be opposing the bail plea of the five accused, a stand they had taken in the special court. "We iterate the stand taken before the trial court. There is no deviation from that," the CBI said.
Justice VK Shali had asked the CBI if there was any change in its stand on the bail pleas before the trial court.
Defence lawyers Altaf Ahmed and Vijay Agarwal contended before the bench that the trial court had wrongly ignored the CBI's willingness to allow bail to the five accused.
