Seeking divine intervention in the run-up to the polls, Bharatiya Janata Party’s CM candidate Kiran Bedi visited a gurudwara in Krishna Nagar where she offered prayers and was seen rolling out ‘rotis’ for langar (community kitchen). Her visit to the Muslim dominated-Khajuri Khas area of her constituency was marked by protests with locals accusing her of violating the model code of conduct by ‘continuing to campaign’ a day ahead of the Delhi polls.

Later in the day, she travelled from Nirman Vihar (a residential area in her constituency) to Patel Chowk, which is Arvind Kejriwal’s constituency.

The party on Friday shifted its entire focus on increasing the voter turnout, reaching out to every door and ensuring proper booth-level management.

The stakes are high for the party as it was unable to reach the magical figure of 36 in the 70-member house in the 2013 elections.

Facing stiff competition from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the party is not leaving any stone unturned as it had put all its machinery, including hundreds of MPs and senior ministers to ensure a win this time.

Even on Friday, a day before the elections, a number of senior BJP leaders held a press conference asking people to choose between governance and anarchy in a veiled attack on AAP.

“The control room will ensure that all complaints are reported in a systematic manner so that people don’t face any problem in casting their votes. We have a team of 10 advocates who will monitor the situation from the control room as they will get feedback from the workers across the city,” said Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Satish Upadhyay.

Unwinding after a hectic campaign spree, Kejriwal did yoga at his residence early in the morning before going to a salon for a haircut. He later visited Gurudwara Rakabganj and Birla Temple in his New Delhi constituency.

"Will go to all temples and gurudwaras in my constituency today. I pray to God that let truth triumph and let the common man win," Kejriwal said.
