The police had put a bounty of Rs 25,000 on Sunil (who goes by a single name), a resident of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. He worked as a driver for the owner of the garment factory that employed the duo.

Sunil and his accomplice Kamta Prasad had allegedly murdered Anil Tiwari, of Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh and his colleague from West Bengal, Deepak Rai, at their rented accommodation in Gandhi Nagar on October 30, 2011.

"The incident was so brutal that one of the victims was hanged upside down from the ceiling fan while the other victim's body was found inside the bathroom with his head on the floor. Both of them were attacked with a blunt object before being stabbed to death," said a senior investigating officer, adding the murders were done for money and over an illicit relationship.

Prabhakar, DCP (east), said the accused were evading their arrest since the incident came to light.

The involvement of Sunil and Prasad was established after their presence outside the victims' house on the fateful night were captured by CCTV cameras.
