Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Mohsina Kidwai was in for a shock at Delhi Airport on Thursday after she was not allowed to board a Kingfisher Delhi-Lucknow flight.

Kidwai, who was on way to Lucknow to campaign for the coming by-polls, had booked her tickets on a Kingfisher Airlines flight. When she reached the airport, airline officials said she was late and didn’t allow her to board the flight.
“I reached around 1.10 pm and got my boarding pass stamped. During the security check, I was told that the flight has been closed,” Kidwai said.
“The airline officials couldn’t give me one valid reason why the flight was closed so early.”
“I missed an important meeting,” she said. Kidwai has lodged a complaint with the airline.
A Kingfisher spokesman said Kidwai reported at 1.22 pm. “She reported eight minutes before the departure for a flight scheduled to depart at 1.30 pm. This was well beyond the normal time at which check in counters close and guests are accepted for boarding,” he said.
