"Lakhs of people come to Delhi to earn their livelihood. They come to seek jobs to support their family. Be compassionate towards roadside vendors and rickshaw pullers. "They are underprivileged. We should support them.

Police should use their power in a righteous way," Khanna said at the passing out parade of the new batch of 612 Sub Inspectors here.

He also asked policemen to take care of senior citizens and women.

City Police Commissioner YS Dadwal said that new batch of Sub Inspectors were given holistic training.

"They were given extensive training keeping the Commonwealth Games in mind. They were also given commando training. Policing in the capital is a new challenge every day and this training will help them," Dadwal told reporters.

This is the largest batch of Sub Inspectors given training so far.

The officers were given training in law, human behaviour, police science, police practical work, police rules, criminology, counter-terrorism and cyber crime.
