Khanna visited the Commonwealth Games Village near Akshardham temple, Yamuna Sports complex and the DDA flats in Vasant Kunj which are being renovated for stay of technical staff of the event.
The DDA is renovating the 2,000 flats in Vasant Kunj for stay of technical staff of the Games. Khanna had visited the flats last Friday to inspect progress of work.
The DDA had decided to upgrade the flats to three-star accommodation as per the request from the Games Organising Committee.
Questions are being raised over whether the flats will be completed ahead of the mega sporting event. DDA engineers, earlier this month had said that they will not be able to complete the flats before the Games.
The Games Village, comprising 1,168 flats and being developed by real Estate firm Emmar-MGF, will accommodate over 8,000 participants of the event. Khanna visited the Games Village for over five times in the last few weeks.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has also been visiting sites of various Games related projects in the last few days and asking officials to put their best effort in ensuring timely completion of the works.
