To improve efficiency of DTC bus services, chief minister Sheila Dikshit has mooted the idea of involving its employees in management of the government-owned corporation.

The chief minister feels participation of the workers in Delhi Transport Corporation management will go a long way in improving its services.
Dikshit expressed the views at a high-level meeting to discuss various issues concerning DTC employees.
The meeting was attended by transport minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, chief secretary PK Tripathi, finance secretary DM Spolia and representatives of the DTC employees.
The employees raised a number of demands, including introduction of a uniform pension scheme and regularisation of services of conductors and drivers who are working on contracts. The government decided to constitute a committee under the Spolia to examine the issues raised by the DTC staff.
