With several key bills and policies awaiting consensus within the ruling UPA, the coalition leaders may hold second meeting of its newly-formed coordination committee on August 22.

As the ongoing monsoon session is slated till September 7, consensus on different issues would help the UPA push key bills during the remaining period of Parliament session.

The last meeting of the UPA panel was held on August 8 but ally Trinamool Congress could not attend. The August 22 meeting is being considered as Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee indicated that she is likely to be present.

The agenda of the meeting is not fixed and a host of issues are likely to be raked up by different partners. UPA sources, however, indicate that two key policy issues — FDI in civil aviation and multi-brand retail and long-pending legislations like pension fund bill and forward trading amendment bill — may pop up during the talks.
