A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly planning and executing a robbery of Rs. 1 crore from Muthoot Finance office at Rohini in June.

The accused, Kaushal Chauhan, owns a plastic-moulding firm in Rithala. He was arrested from Pitam Pura where he had come in his new car, which he had bought with the robbed money, the police said.
Chauhan had suffered losses in his business, so he decided to commit the robbery with the help of his friends.
“He has confessed his involvement in the robbery. He went to Bhiwani and asked his friends Rahul, Amit and Paramjeet to commit a robbery at Muthoot Finance office in Rohini," said P Karunakaran, DCP (northwest).
On June 22, they overpowered the guard and other office staff and decamped with 13kg gold and Rs. 1.3 lakh, the police said.
