The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is soon going to add another feat to its list of highest, deepest and longest achievements.

DMRC is building the longest span ever on a bridge, which will pass over the Indian Railway tracks near Okhla. The bridge will have a hundred-meter-long span built over an operating Railway line.
This bridge is a part of the 20.16 km long under-construction Central Secretariat – Badarpur corridor, which is scheduled to be completed by September 2010 before the Commonwealth Games.
“We had to use such a long span over the Northern Railways track as four different railways lines are passing below the bridge,” said a DMRC spokesman. “We are employing ‘Cantilever Construction (CLC)’ methodology’ for its construction so that the rail traffic below the Metro corridor is not hampered,” he said.
The bridge is being built using M-60 grade concrete and about 130 workers are engaged in the construction of the bridge.
