Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan on Wednesday asked the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to offer assistance to the physically challenged commuters in Metro.

During a meeting with senior CISF officials, Sreedharan, who is set to retire in December, said the force should go beyond their call for duties and lay special emphasis on social responsibilities like assisting the differently abled commuters. He praised the CISF for efficiently guarding lakhs of Metro commuters.
“Metro platforms are designed in such a way that physically challenged commuters can also commute by a Metro. Security personnel should give special attention to make life easier for them by ensuring smooth travelling by Metro.”
The Metro chief was invited to participate in a one- day session with top CISF officials to review operational preparedness of various sectors across the country, said CISF spokesperson Rohit Katiyar.
“I was the most relieved person when CISF took over the security aspect of Delhi Metro. The force has done a glorious job since induction,” Sreedharan said.
