MLA tries to stop fight, lands up in hospital

Intervening into a scuffle proved costly for an MLA who was beaten up by a group of people on Wednesday night. The MLA, identified as Jai Kishan, received minor injuries in the clash that broke out between two groups in Sultanpuri area of outer district.

Intervening into a scuffle proved costly for an MLA who was beaten up by a group of people on Wednesday night. The MLA, identified as Jai Kishan, received minor injuries in the clash that broke out between two groups in Sultanpuri area of outer district.

The incident came to light at 10pm at Rajpark area where the MLA resides. "Two groups were fighting when the MLA was returning from some event. Jai Kishan tried to settle the dispute when members of one group started beating him," said a senior police officer.

A case has been registered at the Sultanpuri police station and further investigations are on. "We have identified the culprits and they will be arrested soon. Jai Kishan was discharged from hospital after first aid," the officer added.
