A British extradition court has rejected the appeal filed by former naval officer Ravi Shankaran, against his extradition to India.

Shankaran is allegedly the main accused in the Navy war room leak case, and now stands to face trial in the case in which he was chargesheeted in 2006.
Shankaran (48), the nephew of Navy ex-chief Admiral Arun Prakash, can still appeal in UK's high court against the order.
As per a commitment given to the British court in 2011, the CBI would not oppose Shankaran's bail application once he gets extradited.
"As all other accused in this case - in which two chargesheets have been submitted since 2006 when the First Information Report was lodged - are already on bail, the CBI had given an undertaking to not oppose Ravi Shankaran's bail when he gets extradited," said the source.
