This is the sixth e-sub-registrar office in Delhi. The first such office was set up in Mehrauli and the second in Rohini.

Dikshit said currently, a person who wants to register a document has to deal with huge crowds, serpentine queues and lack of basic infrastructure such as proper seating, drinking water and toilet facilities.

“Even after going through this ordeal, he or she has to make several rounds of the sub-registrar’s office and wait endlessly before the document is registered and delivered. To put an end to this, the new system envisages a process in which each applicant arrives at the e-sub-registrar’s office with an appointment. The appointment can be taken online by accessing the website of the revenue department,” said Dikshit.

She said applicants will have access to the best infrastructure and amenities, which figures in the special needs of the differently-abled.

The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) completed the work in two months at a cost of R6.44 crore. The same model will be replicated at remaining offices soon.
