The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is all set to approach its special court in New Delhi for a letter rogatory (a court approved request for assistance in investigation) to Morocco to get evidence from Faiza Outlaha, the third wife of Pakistani-American terror operative David Coleman Headley.

The NIA has got necessary permission from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to approach the court. “Faiza is a Moroccan national and knows a lot about Headley’s dealings with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) patron Hafiz Mohammad Saeed...Any statement of evidence provided by her would be very helpful in trial against Headley,” said a source.
The NIA on Saturday filed a chargesheet against Headley and his Canadian associate Tahawwur Hussain Rana for helping LeT and Pakistani spy agency ISI execute the 26/11 Mumbai carnage and plan some more attacks afterwards.
Besides Headley and Rana, the NIA has named seven Pakistanis — two serving ISI officer major Samir Ali and Major Iqbal, Hafiz Saeed, two of his trusted lieutenants — Sajid Mir and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, former Pakistan army officer Abdul Rehman Hashim alias Pasha and al Qaeda commander Ilyas Kashmiri killed in a drone attack in June this year.
Faiza had helped Headley recce the targeted places for 26/11.
