NIA to chargesheet Headley

Three year after the 26/11 attacks, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is ready to chargesheet David Coleman Headley, the US national of Pakistani origin, for the larger conspiracy that went beyond the Mumbai attacks. Besides him, the chargesheet is likely to name around half a dozen Pakistani accused also.

The NIA is waiting for the mandatory sanction under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act from the home ministry before it files chargesheet.

On the instructions of his handlers in the Pakistani spy agency ISI and terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, Headley had allegedly done recee of all those places, which were targeted.

"Mumbai attack was just one part of conspiracy hatched by the ISI and LeT and it was executed also. But he kept coming to India even after the Mumbai attack to plan a series of attacks. Headley and his handlers were planning to attack Chabad Houses all over India, National Defence College in Delhi. He had done recee of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai and various other installations," a source on condition of anonymity said. He further added: "The NIA will chargesheet Headley for the larger conspiracy to carry out a series of attacks in India."
