Come September 15 and you will find only Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) run, new, low floor and old standard floor buses plying in central and south Delhi.

To ensure that rickety, old Blueline buses are not seen anywhere close to the areas where foreign athletes and delegates would be travelling, during the Commonwealth Games, the transport department has decided to shift about 1,300 of these buses to east, north, west, outer and north Delhi.
The proposal was mooted by Delhi transport minister, Arvinder Singh Lovely, in a meeting and was readily accepted by the Blueline bus operators.
According to Delhi Bus Ekta Manch spokesperson Shyam Lal Gola, DTC buses will replace Blueline buses on 70 routes.
“These arrangements will remain in place from Sep 15 to Oct 30. No Blueline bus will ply on routes that connect or touch Games venues,” Gola said.
Gola, however, added that no DTC bus would ply on routes where the Blueline buses would be shifted.
“We had asked the government to suggest if it wanted us to make changes in the appearance of our buses or give special training to our staff. But the government asked us to move these buses and we have agreed to it,” said Gola.
