The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday lashed out at the Delhi government for its failure to provide ration to ration card holders in the last one month.

According to BJP leaders, 4,000 ration shops have not been receiving food supplies, leading to obstruction in the distribution of food items such as rice, dal and flour at discounted rates to people below the poverty line.
“For the past few weeks, workers at ration shops have been on strike and since inflation is at an all time high, poor people are suffering. The CM should immediately intervene and sort out the issue,” said state BJP president Vijender Gupta.
Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on the other hand retaliated by ridiculing BJP for coming out with a vision document for the city within three days of
releasing its manifesto for the civic polls.
She said that the party had only “competence” in “tarnishing” the image of Delhi.
Terming the promises made in the vision document as “hollow”, she said the quality of civic services would further deteriorate if BJP retained power in the municipal polls.
