"In order to ease traffic congestion at Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, I.P Marg and Vikas Marg among other locations during evenings, we have decided to implement diversions from tomorrow," said Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic).

The restrictions will be enforced from 5:30 pm and 8 pm on weekdays and are expected to take three minutes off each commuter's travelling time.

"There will be no right turn for traffic coming from

Vikas Marg and heading towards Raj Ghat from under the IP flyover. The alternate route is the left loop from Vikas Marg to Electric Power Station under the bridge to Delhi Secretariat and then finally to Raj Ghat," said a senior Traffic Police officer.

Similarly, there would be no right turn for going towards Vikas Marg from under the IP flyover. Alternate route is loop on Ring Road near the Raj Ghat, U turn and then Vikas Marg near the Delhi Secretariat and finally on to the Vikas Marg.

"Though they will be covering more distance relatively, the entire route taken by them will be absolutely signal-free," Joint CP Garg explained.
