North corporation finds many projects on hold

An inspection by a team from North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday has revealed that many JNNURM projects by the civic body are on hold.

Following reports of broken roads in Karol Bagh, MCD officials and Ravinder Gupta, chairman, works committee of North Corporation, had paid a visit to the area.

According to Gupta, the development works that have been affected are located at Qutab Road, Foota Road, Kalidas Marg, Vishnu Mandir Marg, Ganga Mandir Marg, Mandipur, etc.

Gupta directed the officials to take action against defaulting contractors/agency. He added that they should be persuaded to complete these projects within a stipulated period.

The team also inspected drains in Kirti Nagar and Ramesh Nagar which they found to have been encroached upon by other people.
